Our Primary SEN provision supports pupils who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) identified as their primary area of need.
Admissions to the provision are managed through the Education, Health and Care Plan placement and consultation process. Parents and carers cannot apply directly to the provision for a school place in the same way that they might apply for a mainstream school place.
Where a placement at our provision is being considered, the relevant Local Authority will consult with us as part of the EHCP process. We will carefully consider the information provided through the consultation to determine whether we are able to meet the child’s identified needs and whether the placement would be compatible with the efficient education of other pupils and the effective use of resources. The Local Authority remains responsible for decisions regarding the school or provision named in Section I of a child’s EHCP.
Visiting Our Provision
We recognise how important it is for parents and carers to understand a setting when considering whether it may be appropriate for their child. Parents and carers are very welcome to contact us to arrange a tour of our Primary SEN provision.
A visit provides an opportunity to see the provision, learn more about our approach to supporting children with SEMH needs, and ask questions about the support and education we provide.
Please note that arranging or attending a tour does not constitute an application for a place and does not guarantee that a place will be offered. Formal admissions and placements must follow the statutory EHCP consultation and placement process.
