GCSE Results Day 2025

The Rowans AP Academy is celebrating another year of strong achievements as Year 11 pupils receive their exam results today. With a rise in attainment, 86.9% of pupils achieved five or more qualifications, including English and maths, a significant increase from 69.2% in 2024.

The Rowans AP Academy provides a unique and supportive environment for young people who may have struggled in mainstream education or experienced significant challenges in their lives. This year’s results highlight not only academic success, but also the resilience and determination of pupils. There were some strong individual successes including;

  • Jess achieved an impressive set of results including GCSEs in English and maths, alongside a grade 5 in Food, grade 6 in Design Technology, grade 6 in Art, and grade 7s in both Photography and Textiles.
  • Lucy, who joined The Rowans in March 2025 after extensive periods of disrupted education, achieved both English and Maths GCSEs, in only 8 weeks! Her success is a testament to her determination and the dedication and support of staff at The Rowans.

Principal, Mrs May praised the pupils and staff for their exceptional efforts:

"Many of the young people who arrive at The Rowans have lost confidence in themselves and in education, believing that success is out of reach. At The Rowans, we know that every pupil has the ability to thrive when given the right support, encouragement and belief. Today’s results prove that with kindness, commitment and resilience, change is always possible. Our pupils have shown remarkable determination, and our staff have gone above and beyond to ensure they feel safe, valued and capable of achieving great things. I am incredibly proud of what has been achieved. These results demonstrate not only academic success, but also the power of hope, perseverance and strong relationships to transform lives."

The Rowans AP Academy remains committed to enabling young people to change the direction of their lives, supporting every pupil to achieve meaningful qualifications and progress onto successful post-16 pathways.
