GCSE Photography is for creative students who and love taking and editing photos and being arty! However, it is not all about capturing the photos; learners will be required to research photographers, recreate photographers’ work and develop their own ideas. Over the year’s course, you will develop your creativity, imagination and knowledge through three sustained projects. Pupils will learn about a variety of photographic media, techniques and processes and develop comprehensive skills on Photoshop.
Pupils will select from a range of study areas within photography including portraiture, landscape, human form, illusion or nature photography. Pupils will build a portfolio over the year consisting of different projects and for the final unit. There is then a 10 hour controlled assignment at the end of the course, which must be completed under exam conditions.
